Called first thing in the morning. But they didn’t have any openings for the day. The receptionist was very nice on the phone and easy to talk to. I explained our family situation and the current electrical issue. She immediately said “let me call Dan and see if we can make this happen today”. Called me back in less than 10 minutes and said the next technicians to finish their current job will be coming to our home. They gave us a 2pm to 4pm window. Tech called around 3pm to let us know they were heading our way. They inspected the issues and fixed them in no time. Tech’s took time to explain the issues and what they were doing to fix them. Also told us what they thought of the condition of the breaker box and other outlets. They didn’t push/pressure any additional repairs. Tech’s were very nice and didn’t mind making conversation. I’m glad they were able to fix the issue the same day cause we have alot going on starting tomorrow. When I was told the bill total, I was very surprised in a good way. 100% satisfied. I just found the perfect electrician, quality work, fast service at a good price. Dan did an outstanding job and Lisa office manager was very helpful and kind. My doorbell was removed by my previous tenant that installed a camera doorbell. We weren’t sure where it was as the old wiring access was covered up and painted over. I initially called another electrician and they wanted to charge more than twice as much for a completely new doorbell. After many referrals and a few quotes, I chose Dan Levinsky and Sons, a Portsmouth business. Dan Levinsky was the most highly recommended from locals on my Facebook posts. I checked the Google reviews and Levinsky has a 4.9 rating. Doesn't get much better than that. Dan put two of his best people on the job, Julio and David. They finished today. Excellent work at a very fair price. I'm pleased x100%. The other contractors I had give me quotes for the job, didn't instill confidence that they were familiar with working with older buildings (c-1941), and their prices were considerably higher. This was a very complicated and expensive project. Julio and David are very experienced and did neat work, which speaks to their abilities and knowledge of their trade. Called Dan Levinsky & Sons Electrical due to a GFCI outlet in my garage that was constantly tripping offline. When other companies couldn't schedule a same day appointment, Dan Levinsky & Son found a way to send a tech within hours. Electricians Julio and David arrived at the house, quickly diagnosed the exterior outlet that was causing the GFCI outlet to trip. In the pouring rain, they changed all the exterior outlets to weather resistant outlet, replaced the protective covers, and upgrades the GFCI to code standards. Pricing was fair. Dan came out the next day, did a thorough inspection, found the problem was that our ancient box was melting Dominion Power's meter, and scheduled the replacement. The work was done for a fair price, the electrician was clean and respectful of the property, knowledgeable about the situation, and requested the city inspector to call Dominion Power while he waited.
