Called first thing in the morning. But they didn’t have any openings for the day. The receptionist was very nice on the phone and easy to talk to. I explained our family situation and the current electrical issue. She immediately said “let me call Dan and see if we can make this happen today”. Called me back in less than 10 minutes and said the next technicians to finish their current job will be coming to our home. They gave us a 2pm to 4pm window. Tech called around 3pm to let us know they were heading our way. They inspected the issues and fixed them in no time. Tech’s took time to explain the issues and what they were doing to fix them. Also told us what they thought of the condition of the breaker box and other outlets. They didn’t push/pressure any additional repairs. Tech’s were very nice and didn’t mind making conversation. Called Dan Levinsky & Sons Electrical due to a GFCI outlet in my garage that was constantly tripping offline. When other companies couldn't schedule a same day appointment, Dan Levinsky & Son found a way to send a tech within hours. Electricians Julio and David arrived at the house, quickly diagnosed the exterior outlet that was causing the GFCI outlet to trip. In the pouring rain, they changed all the exterior outlets to weather resistant outlet, replaced the protective covers, and upgrades the GFCI to code standards. Pricing was fair. Dan came out the next day, did a thorough inspection, found the problem was that our ancient box was melting Dominion Power's meter, and scheduled the replacement. The work was done for a fair price, the electrician was clean and respectful of the property, knowledgeable about the situation, and requested the city inspector to call Dominion Power while he waited. I cannot recommend this company enough. My panel box caught fire and I had my wife and two year old inside along with all of our pets. I just found the perfect electrician, quality work, fast service at a good price. Dan did an outstanding job and Lisa office manager was very helpful and kind. My doorbell was removed by my previous tenant that installed a camera doorbell. We weren’t sure where it was as the old wiring access was covered up and painted over. Some weeks ago I asked for recommendations for electrical contractors, from friends, and in local Facebook groups. After many referrals and a few quotes, I chose Dan Levinsky and Sons, a Portsmouth business. Dan Levinsky was the most highly recommended from locals on my Facebook posts. I checked the Google reviews and Levinsky has a 4.9 rating. Doesn't get much better than that. Dan put two of his best people on the job, Julio and David. They finished today. Excellent work at a very fair price. I'm pleased x100%. The other contractors I had give me quotes for the job, didn't instill confidence that they were familiar with working with older buildings (c-1941), and their prices were considerably higher. This was a very complicated and expensive project. Julio and David are very experienced and did neat work, which speaks to their abilities and knowledge of their trade. Then he makes suggestions if I choose to do more work on electrical problems in house. These guys are the most polite, professional and knowledgeable electricians! My home was struck by lightning recently and they were recommended for the electrical repairs. Dan stayed in communication with me and the insurance company the entire time and was so very empathetic to my situation. From the initial contact the entire organization was courteous, professional and prompt. I put in the service late and night and Lisa called me the next morning to set up a time. I received numerous follow-ups and coordination of my service. When Frank and Drake arrived they were professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. They work diligently to ascertain my issue, offered a variety of solutions and worked to rectify the issue. They even corrected some sloppy work of a previous company. Levinsky and Son’s Electrical is on point!! Drake and Steve discovered a bigger electrical problem then I thought I had AND corrected it 😃. I felt comfortable with their presence as they moved about analyzing and discovering unknown issues and even answered my questions if I didn't understand their professional terminology when they were communicating with each other to resolve the problem. On December 9, I experienced a second fire at my house originating from the meter box. Earlier this year, Justin and his crew had responded to a house fire. Although this incident was separate, the company was responsive and came to my home to assess the damages. They managed to replace the box within a day, but DOMINION POWER did not respond in a timely manner for an emergency situation. I have positive feedback for Dan Levinsky & Sons Electrical Services Inc. Lisa the office manager was also efficient, gathering timely information and managing inspections to restore power. The team worked effectively to get my power back on during the cold days, and I am grateful for their assistance. It seems like a cliche, but we woke up to a blown GFCI breaker killing our entire kitchen . . . on the 4th of July. They had a technician (Drake) out to the house in less than two hours, and the bad breaker was replaced in less than an hour. While replacing the breaker, Drake also suggested a couple of longer-term changes to the kitchen's circuits to help reduce the probability of future problems. Dan's team came in a changed all of my wall outlets due to they are out dated and wired improperly. They found wires that were melted together and could cause a fire! I am a class A contractor and constantly on contracts that need electrical. He has done a full kitchen rewire and he has serviced my own house.
