It seems like a cliche, but we woke up to a blown GFCI breaker killing our entire kitchen . . . on the 4th of July. They had a technician (Drake) out to the house in less than two hours, and the bad breaker was replaced in less than an hour. While replacing the breaker, Drake also suggested a couple of longer-term changes to the kitchen's circuits to help reduce the probability of future problems. Called Dan Levinsky & Sons Electrical due to a GFCI outlet in my garage that was constantly tripping offline. When other companies couldn't schedule a same day appointment, Dan Levinsky & Son found a way to send a tech within hours. Electricians Julio and David arrived at the house, quickly diagnosed the exterior outlet that was causing the GFCI outlet to trip. In the pouring rain, they changed all the exterior outlets to weather resistant outlet, replaced the protective covers, and upgrades the GFCI to code standards. Pricing was fair. Dan came out the next day, did a thorough inspection, found the problem was that our ancient box was melting Dominion Power's meter, and scheduled the replacement. Some weeks ago I asked for recommendations for electrical contractors, from friends, and in local Facebook groups. After many referrals and a few quotes, I chose Dan Levinsky and Sons, a Portsmouth business. Dan Levinsky was the most highly recommended from locals on my Facebook posts. I checked the Google reviews and Levinsky has a 4.9 rating. Doesn't get much better than that. Dan put two of his best people on the job, Julio and David. They finished today. Excellent work at a very fair price. I'm pleased x100%. The other contractors I had give me quotes for the job, didn't instill confidence that they were familiar with working with older buildings (c-1941), and their prices were considerably higher. This was a very complicated and expensive project. Julio and David are very experienced and did neat work, which speaks to their abilities and knowledge of their trade. I cannot recommend this company enough. My panel box caught fire and I had my wife and two year old inside along with all of our pets. Luckily, we got the fire put out fast enough to prevent any serious damage but we were obviously without power. Upon hearing this, Dan himself drove to our house immediately and cleaned up our panel box so that my family could have power again and didn't have to suffer. It wasn't something he had to do but he took time out of his busy schedule to help save my family. He also spoke to me about how to fix things and plan for issues that might come up in the future and gave me an incredibly reasonably priced proposal. I will definitely be using Dan Levinsky & Sons not only for the proposal but for all electrical services and concerns for as long as possible. From the initial contact the entire organization was courteous, professional and prompt. I put in the service late and night and Lisa called me the next morning to set up a time. I received numerous follow-ups and coordination of my service. When Frank and Drake arrived they were professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. They work diligently to ascertain my issue, offered a variety of solutions and worked to rectify the issue. They even corrected some sloppy work of a previous company. Called first thing in the morning. But they didn’t have any openings for the day. The receptionist was very nice on the phone and easy to talk to. I explained our family situation and the current electrical issue. She immediately said “let me call Dan and see if we can make this happen today”. Called me back in less than 10 minutes and said the next technicians to finish their current job will be coming to our home. They gave us a 2pm to 4pm window. Tech called around 3pm to let us know they were heading our way. They inspected the issues and fixed them in no time. Tech’s took time to explain the issues and what they were doing to fix them. Also told us what they thought of the condition of the breaker box and other outlets. They didn’t push/pressure any additional repairs. Tech’s were very nice and didn’t mind making conversation. I’m glad they were able to fix the issue the same day cause we have alot going on starting tomorrow. When I was told the bill total, I was very surprised in a good way. 100% satisfied. Punctual, friendly, and incredibly priced – that sums up my experience perfectly. You wouldn't believe some of the quotes I received from other companies, but this team stood out by being honest about what I needed and what I didn’t. Thanks to them, my RV now has power, and I couldn’t be happier. Their service was flawless from start to finish. Great honest work. No pushy sales offer. He gives summary of what is the problem with the electrical in my house. Then he makes suggestions if I choose to do more work on electrical problems in house. He presents packages (online website) on what needs to be done on the house if I choose to upgrade or repair electrical problems. Experienced electrician (Drake) very professional. Great work. These guys are the most polite, professional and knowledgeable electricians! My home was struck by lightning recently and they were recommended for the electrical repairs. Dan stayed in communication with me and the insurance company the entire time and was so very empathetic to my situation. They moved their schedules around to get my home back in order as quickly as possible. They were patient and took the time to explain to me everything they were doing and what needed to be done. 5 stars to our electricians, Justin & Kyle. They installed a new ceiling fan + fixed some electrical lighting in both bathrooms of the house. No more rave dance party while taking a shower! Levinsky and Son’s Electrical is on point!! Drake and Steve discovered a bigger electrical problem then I thought I had AND corrected it 😃. I felt comfortable with their presence as they moved about analyzing and discovering unknown issues and even answered my questions if I didn't understand their professional terminology when they were communicating with each other to resolve the problem. Electrician terms is what I mean. My fur baby was the first to sign off on them to give Drake and Steve a 👍 and they were A+ okay with me too😊.
