Had many electrical issues throughout my house that 4 other electricians weren't able to help me out with. Justin initially came and accessed the issues, and then they sent Kyle and Jared. They were able to restore power to one of my bed rooms, find and install new GFI outlet that was stopping power to many outlets in the house. They were also able to help with a ceiling fan and replaced a electrical box in my wall that was installed improperly by the previous owner. Some weeks ago I asked for recommendations for electrical contractors, from friends, and in local Facebook groups. After many referrals and a few quotes, I chose Dan Levinsky and Sons, a Portsmouth business. Dan Levinsky was the most highly recommended from locals on my Facebook posts. I checked the Google reviews and Levinsky has a 4.9 rating. Doesn't get much better than that. Dan put two of his best people on the job, Julio and David. They finished today. Excellent work at a very fair price. I'm pleased x100%. The other contractors I had give me quotes for the job, didn't instill confidence that they were familiar with working with older buildings (c-1941), and their prices were considerably higher. It seems like a cliche, but we woke up to a blown GFCI breaker killing our entire kitchen . . . on the 4th of July. They had a technician (Drake) out to the house in less than two hours, and the bad breaker was replaced in less than an hour. While replacing the breaker, Drake also suggested a couple of longer-term changes to the kitchen's circuits to help reduce the probability of future problems. I cannot recommend this company enough. My panel box caught fire and I had my wife and two year old inside along with all of our pets. Luckily, we got the fire put out fast enough to prevent any serious damage but we were obviously without power. Upon hearing this, Dan himself drove to our house immediately and cleaned up our panel box so that my family could have power again and didn't have to suffer. Called first thing in the morning. But they didn’t have any openings for the day. The receptionist was very nice on the phone and easy to talk to. I explained our family situation and the current electrical issue. She immediately said “let me call Dan and see if we can make this happen today”. Called me back in less than 10 minutes and said the next technicians to finish their current job will be coming to our home. They gave us a 2pm to 4pm window. Tech called around 3pm to let us know they were heading our way. They inspected the issues and fixed them in no time. Tech’s took time to explain the issues and what they were doing to fix them. Also told us what they thought of the condition of the breaker box and other outlets. They didn’t push/pressure any additional repairs. Tech’s were very nice and didn’t mind making conversation. So I knew I needed to find a real electrician after failed attempts at getting help from “hey I know a guy who does that on the side”. I googled and Dan Levinsky and Sons popped up. The nicest lady Lisa answered the phone and it’s mostly because she was so kind and helpful and informative that I decided to get the estimate. I had ALOT I needed to get taken care of. Justin came out and he really knew his stuff. I live in a 100 year old home and know how hard it is to work around lathing etc. but he assured me that it wasn’t as much of a pain as I thought it would be. I won’t lie, it was expensive but I decided to do all the things..a new box because mine was rusted and just horrible, I needed upgraded GFI outlets in the kitchen and bathroom (that they created all new circuits for), I wanted an outlet on my front porch and finally I wanted to get my motion detector light replaced and add a switch and a plug there outside. So…Jared and Kyle come and they took their time and were so patient with the challenges they faced. They added protection to my gas and water lines. (Who knew ?) They got it done. The next day Aubrey and Mitch came and replaced my box and they were really quick with it. I have a nice new breaker box with brand new wires and all the things. It’s almost beautiful!!! Every one of them was polite and kind and allowed me to ask a million questions without losing patience with me. They said they’d get it done in two days and I didn’t believe them. But they did it and in this horrible heat and humidity!!! They also cleaned up very nicely. We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Dan Levinsky & Sons Electrical Services, and we cannot say enough great things about Aubrey, the electrician who came out to our home. We initially called after losing all power to two exterior walls of our home. Aubrey was incredibly thorough in troubleshooting the issue and quickly discovered multiple faulty wiring issues within several outlets. He didn’t stop at simply identifying the immediate problem—he took the time to investigate further and make sure there weren’t additional electrical hazards that could put our home or family at risk. During his inspection, Aubrey also discovered that our HVAC system had been wired improperly and unsafely, creating a potential fire hazard and code-compliance issue. This was something we had no idea was present, and we are incredibly grateful that Aubrey was knowledgeable and diligent enough to identify it. What meant the most to us was Aubrey’s genuine focus on safety and protecting our family. Called Dan Levinsky & Sons Electrical due to a GFCI outlet in my garage that was constantly tripping offline. When other companies couldn't schedule a same day appointment, Dan Levinsky & Son found a way to send a tech within hours. Electricians Julio and David arrived at the house, quickly diagnosed the exterior outlet that was causing the GFCI outlet to trip. In the pouring rain, they changed all the exterior outlets to weather resistant outlet, replaced the protective covers, and upgrades the GFCI to code standards. Pricing was fair. I just found the perfect electrician, quality work, fast service at a good price. Dan did an outstanding job and Lisa office manager was very helpful and kind. My doorbell was removed by my previous tenant that installed a camera doorbell. We weren’t sure where it was as the old wiring access was covered up and painted over. I had a meter box problem and a friend referred Dan Levinsky & Sons. Dan came out the next day, did a thorough inspection, found the problem was that our ancient box was melting Dominion Power's meter, and scheduled the replacement. The work was done for a fair price, the electrician was clean and respectful of the property, knowledgeable about the situation, and requested the city inspector to call Dominion Power while he waited. Super fast response to a late Friday afternoon problem. Aubrey and Cameron were super friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. They quickly identified the source of our problem and repaired it. Levinsky and Son’s Electrical is on point!! Drake and Steve discovered a bigger electrical problem then I thought I had AND corrected it 😃. I felt comfortable with their presence as they moved about analyzing and discovering unknown issues and even answered my questions if I didn't understand their professional terminology when they were communicating with each other to resolve the problem.
